Flowers for South Africa … and probably beyond … is what you’ll find at Multiflora, just south of Johannesburg. This 50 000 sq m, roofed, specialised flower auction space sees some 300 million flower stems a year pass through its doors. This translates into an astounding 1 million flower stems a day in just three to four hours, with between 300 and 900 trolleys passing the four auction clocks every day. With business picking up, the fourth Multiflora clock was added on July 6, 2011.
